One of the most-loved shows on television, The Big Bang Theory has successfully run for eleven seasons and the twelfth season may be the last time we see Dr. Sheldon Cooper, Dr. Rajesh Ramayan Koothrappali, Dr. Leonard Hofstadter, Mr. Howard Wolowitz, Penny and the others on screen. The reasons for the wrap up have been accounted to fall-outs between the members of the cast with ego clashes and jealousy reportedly being the main causes.
It has been reported that many of the actors on the show had an exaggerated opinion of themselves which does not settle well with the rest of the cast. Some of them are even ‘itching’ to leave the show and this does make one wonder of the reason, for they all do receive a huge salary. Apparently, Kaley Cuoco who plays Penny and Johnny Galecki who plays Leonard were not very happy about the fact that their co-star Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper is also the narrator of a prequel of The Big Bang Theory called ‘Young Sheldon’, which is based on the childhood of Cooper. Johnny Galecki was also allegedly ‘silently simmering’ over the reality that Jim Parsons is TV’s highest paid star.
Apart from squabbles amongst the members of the show, the series itself has begun to lose its popularity, and this came as a shocker when the ratings massively fell during the eleventh season. Ratings play a major role in determining whether a show can sustain itself on television and the sharp fall in the numbers seems to point in a negative direction for The Big Bang Theory.
